Magento 1 to 2 Conversions – Why?

Magento 1 to 2 Conversions – Why?

Magento 1 is at end of life as of June 30, 2020. Does that mean I HAVE to convert?

Well, eventually, yes. Does it have to ve July 1, 2020? No. But every day you wait, the more dangerous it becomes. Eventually, you absolutely WILL have t convert to from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Here’s the long and short of why:

1. Things break. That’s right – even if you never touch a single line of code in your Magento 1 implementation, databases will fill up, external systems will change, server functions will change, things will expire.

2. Security becomes an issue. As time goes on, hackers try new things and eventually may be successful. With supported software, the company that owns it (in this case, Adobe) will release a patch to fix the issue. In the case of Magento 1 – that’s not going to happen.

3. You are missing out on new technology. Magento 2 has HUNDREDS of fixes and new features that you could be taking advantage of. Some extensions you need to pay for – annually – for Magento 1, are just built into Magento 2. Easier admin means less time spent modifying large sets of products. And speed is definitely a big improvement in Magento 2.

4. Your competitors are reaping the benefits. Faster checkout process, more payment types out of the box, better user engagement – all things you want, and the other guy has it.

The list goes on. Your big concerns are just two, right? How much will it cost, and how disruptive will it be. Let us show you how we can keep BOTH to a minimum for you. Guaranteed. No BS.
